Canasta

Canasta is a rummy type of game in which Canastas are built. The type of game we play is sometimes called “Hand and Foot”. The hand consists of 15 cards and the foot consists of 15 cards.  You need to make a Canasta to pick up your 2nd set of cards, the foot.

This is a partner game.  Some people keep the same partner each week; while others pair up with whoever is available.

Beginners are welcome but will need to learn several rules.  It may take a few sessions to remember everything.

Each player pays $2 into the prize pot.  There are 3 or 4 winners depending on how many players there are.
